About Us

Our History

Lakepointe Gardens was developed by Gough & Gough developers beginning around 1994. It is a quiet residential community located on the north side of Valparaiso, Indiana. The last open lot was developed in 2007, making a total of 115 individual residential units. Homes are a mixture of single family, duplex (paired patio), townhome units, and condominium units, with many of the lots surrounding a small, private lake.

Our community is situated on the north side of Vale Park Road and east of Calumet Avenue, near retail shopping areas and top-rated medical facilities. Click here for a map of the area.

When the original lots were sold, restrictions were placed on the homes that could be constructed here. The restrictions may be found in the Declarations of Covenants, Conditions, Easements and Restrictions of Lakepointe Gardens at Chandana. The covenants are monitored by the community through the Lakepointe Gardens Property Owners Association, Inc. Property Value Committee and the Board of Directors.

Lakepointe Gardens Property Owners Association, Inc. is a non-profit, non-political Indiana corporation. The organization is presided over by a five-member Board of Directors, who assumed the management of the organization from the original developer in October, 2005. Bylaws were adopted and the Covenants were amended by the membership in 2006. Community rules were adopted by the Board and put in place in August, 2006.

On November 1, 2007, responsibility for daily operations was transferred to a General Manager, under the direction of the Board of Directors.  Managerial duties are now split between a financial manager and an operations manager.

Residents pay a monthly assessment, based on their share of the services provided, which funds the necessary outdoor services, i.e. snow removal, mowing and landscaping, pruning, fertilizing and weed control on lawns and the maintenance of all common areas in the community, including a small lake in the center of the development. Residents are required to have their assessments paid automatically via direct debit to a bank account, making it a simple process.

Residents are kept informed about the community through a periodic newsletter publication, news items occasionally posted on this site, and the members' annual meeting which is held in October of each year.
